I’m Sofia Ribeiro Willcox, a graduate with Honours in Creative and Professional Writing and Film and Television Studies from the University of Wolverhampton. Born and raised in Niterói, Brazil, I now reside in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
My creativity drives me to explore diverse projects, aiming to broaden my horizons through writing in different languages, genres, platforms, and from unconventional angles.
As a child of the turn of the millennium, I have a natural affinity for social and digital media, blogging, and Microsoft Office—skills that reflect my digital native status. I’m a skilled communicator, passionate about engaging with diverse virtual communities, and I excel at tailoring messages to suit various mediums and demographics. My adaptability extends beyond technology; through diverse experiences, I’ve honed my critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and flexibility.
My writing philosophy is rooted in "Cogito, ergo creare...sentio, tunc creo" (I think, therefore I create; I feel, then I create). I write from the inside out, or sometimes the other way around, believing that everyone, everywhere, and everything has a story waiting to be told. My mission is to uncover these unheard voices and share their stories, building bridges of communication.
I’ve contributed content to digital magazines, managed my own blog and Medium account, and curated and produced social media content—both in copy and design—for posts and newsletters. Additionally, I’ve participated in a poetry anthology and a horror story collection.
I’m a translator (🇧🇷: Native, 🇬🇧: Fluent), an experimental writer, and a poet. In 2020, I proudly contributed to the poetry anthology “Entre o Sono e o Sonho” (Vol. XII) by Chiado Books with “Porrada, Granada, Armada.” In 2023, I participated in the horror anthology “Gore 3” by Poe Boy Publishing with “Blame on the Boogeymen.”
In every word I write and every story I tell, I strive to leave a spark.
